Verifying the download

You can check in Terminal that the file you downloaded is the official one.

spctl -a -vv -t open --context context:primary-signature ~/Downloads/QuotaDesk-0.2.3.dmg
shasum -a 256 ~/Downloads/QuotaDesk-0.2.3.dmg
  • If the first line prints “accepted” and “source=Notarized Developer ID,” the file has been notarized by Apple.
  • If the value from the second line matches the SHA-256 in the table above, the file has not changed since it was published.

Notarization is Apple’s automated check for known malware. It does not guarantee the quality or behavior of the app.

To check the app after installing it
codesign --verify --deep --strict "/Applications/Quota Desk.app"
spctl -a -vv "/Applications/Quota Desk.app"

If the first line prints nothing, the signature is valid. If the second line prints “accepted” and “source=Notarized Developer ID,” the app is notarized.

How to connect services and read the gauges is covered in the User Guide.

Update

Updating

  • From 0.2.0, the app checks for new versions at launch and every 24 hours and tells you when one is available. It installs only when you choose “Install,” then relaunches.
  • To check yourself, use “check for updates” from the menu bar icon or Settings.
  • You can turn off automatic checks in Settings.
  • If you use 0.2.0 or 0.2.1: 0.2.2 uses a new signing key for in-app updates, so 0.2.0 and 0.2.1 are not offered 0.2.2 or later. Please download the latest version from this page and replace the app once. From 0.2.2 on, the app tells you about new versions again.
  • Version 0.1.0 has no updater. Download the latest version from this page and reinstall.
Uninstall

Uninstalling

  1. Disconnect Claude (if you used it)

In Quota Desk’s Settings, disconnect the terminal integration and the Web integration. Disconnecting the terminal integration restores Claude Code’s status line setting; disconnecting the Web integration removes the sign-in data kept by the app.

  2. Quit the app and move it to the Trash

Quit Quota Desk from the menu bar icon, then move it from the Applications folder to the Trash. Remove the desktop widgets by right-clicking them.

  3. To also remove saved data

In Finder, choose Go → Go to Folder…, open these locations, and move the folders to the Trash.

    • ~/Library/Application Support/QuotaDesk
    • ~/Library/Application Support/com.duca.QuotaDesk
    • ~/Library/Group Containers/62JU4MHLK6.com.duca.QuotaDesk (data shared with the widgets)
