How the SoundSwitch distribution site (this site) and the app itself handle information, and the disclaimer that applies to their use. The app goes online only to check for updates and to download an update you choose. The conditions for downloading and using it are set out in the Terms of Use.

Scope
- Covered: this site (the distribution pages under
https://k386.sub.jp/SoundSwitch/) and the macOS app "SoundSwitch" distributed here. - Not covered: how external sites you reach from here handle information. Please refer to their own policies.
What this site counts
All K386 Apps sites use a shared mechanism that counts only the following, per day. The numbers are not shown on the pages.
- Page views: goes up by one each time a page is shown.
- Visitors: the number of people per day, with repeat visits from the same person removed.
- Downloads: goes up by one each time a file is fetched through the download button.
IP addresses and browser details themselves are not stored. To remove repeat visits, a code is made from the IP address and browser details that is valid only for that day and cannot be turned back into the original values; it is deleted after two days. Obvious automated crawlers (bots) and visits from the operator's own devices are not counted. It is not possible to identify individuals or follow anyone's behavior.
What this site does not use
- No cookies are stored on visitors' devices (a cookie is stored only on the operator's own devices, to exclude them from the counts).
- No analytics tools (Google Analytics or similar) are installed.
- No advertising or behavioral targeting tags are installed.
- There is no sign-up, contact form or email field. Downloading never requires personal information.
Server access logs
The server hosting this site may, as a standard function of the hosting provider, record access logs containing the time of access, IP address and browser type. This is how web servers generally work; it is not something this site collects on its own.
Such logs are used only for operational purposes such as investigating faults and responding to unauthorized access. They are not used to identify individuals, track behavior or perform advertising analysis. Retention and handling follow the provider's specifications and terms.
About the app itself
It goes online for only these two things

Both are plain HTTPS requests that carry nothing identifying you. As with any web request, however, your IP address and similar details are recorded in the server's access log. Audio, device names, settings and usage data are never sent.
Turning off "Check for updates automatically at launch" in the Update tab of Settings stops the launch check. While it is off, SoundSwitch does not use the network except when you choose "Check for updates…".
Audio and permissions
- Device switching, volume, mute and shortcuts receive no audio and ask for no permissions. Microphone permission is never requested.
- Shortcuts receive only the key combinations you set. Other key presses are neither read nor recorded. Accessibility permission is not required.
- Adjusting Apple Music or Spotify volume asks, the first time, for Automation permission for that app. It is used only to read and change playback state and volume.
- With the experimental browser volume feature, after you start it and allow system audio capture, the selected browser's audio is received inside your Mac, its volume changed and played back. This can include meeting audio in that browser, but audio is never saved or sent anywhere.
What stays on your Mac
Settings are stored only in your Mac's standard settings location (jp.duca.SoundSwitch, in the file ~/Library/Preferences/jp.duca.SoundSwitch.plist).

All of this exists only on your Mac. Delete the app and run defaults delete jp.duca.SoundSwitch in Terminal to remove it.
Disclosure to third parties
Neither this site nor the app collects personal information, so there is nothing to provide to third parties. Where disclosure is required by law, it will be handled as the law provides.
Disclaimer
- SoundSwitch is provided without warranty. Fitness for a particular purpose, freedom from defects and uninterrupted operation are not guaranteed.
- The operator accepts no liability for damages arising from use of the app, including audio playing through an unintended device or the wrong microphone being active in a meeting. When it matters, confirm the actual output and input yourself.
- Behavior may change with macOS updates, audio hardware firmware updates, or conflicts with other apps.
- The experimental feature (browser volume) may not work in every environment.
- Features may change, and distribution may stop, without prior notice.
- The information on this site is prepared with care, but its accuracy and currency are not guaranteed.
The DMG distributed here is signed with a Developer ID and notarized by Apple. This site is the only official source. The operator has no knowledge of files redistributed elsewhere.
Changes to this policy
If the contents change, this page will be updated. Significant changes will be noted with a revision date.
September 24, 2026: rewrote "What this site counts" to match the counting mechanism now shared across K386 Apps, and corrected the description of when the app goes online and which permissions the music and browser volume features ask for.
